06/2019 | UBC and Baltrader team up to form Cement Carrier Alliance

Hamburg / Philadelphia June 17th 2019: Two market leaders in cement shipping have announced that they will jointly market their respective fleets of pneumatic cement carriers. Hamburg-based Baltrader and Philadelphia-based United Bulk Carriers (UBC) cooperate as the newly launched Cement Carrier Alliance (CCA).

The aim of the new cooperation is to offer a wider range of vessel sizes to existing and new customers while enhancing marketing to current and developing markets. With currently 15 specialized, modern, self-discharging cement carriers the alliance consists of 3,000 up to 15,000 t DWAT vessels.

“As two independent partners motivated by the same objectives, we have teamed up for the marketing of our respective cement carrier fleets” CCA said in a statement.

Baltrader and UBC remain independent entities each operating out of their own offices while offering continuity in their customer relationships. CCA will be jointly represented by the UBC office in Philadelphia and the Baltrader office in Hamburg.

CCA member partners will participate at the 100 th INTERCEM conference in Istanbul June 24 th to 26 th , 2019. At the same time CCA will launch a website to showcase its diversified fleet to its clients and share relevant industry news (www. cement-carrier-alliance.com).
